To think people are employed to make these…
An advert caught our eye the other day for its pure vomit-inducing tackiness. Nope, not the Kerry Katona Iceland ads, they have thankfully been shelved, but the Rockstar series from DFS.
In case you’ve had a lucky escape and managed to miss them, essentially they feature various ‘people like you and me’ dancing on their new sofas singing the aforementioned Nickelback song. God help us.
While we are at it, we’re sure that the guy from this incredibly annoying confused.com advert is still in hiding from the humiliation. So pleased they are with their efforts, they’ve even provided a handy guide of how to make such crap ads. Brilliant.

A handy little site…
This rather useful website calls itself: “The definitive resource list for anyone designing, developing, marketing or maintaining websites”, and pretty much is. (via SwissMiss)

The grannies’ favourite show is set for big changes…
In what might well be the final straw for the long-running Channel 4 programme, Carol Vorderman has sensationally announced today that she is quitting Countdown.
The letters and numbers quiz show, which has been on Channel 4 since its launch day in 1982, was already reeling from the news this week that host Des O’Connor is to quit in November.
Since the untimely death of Richard Whitely in 2005, the show had already seen another old timers’ favourite Des Lynam come and go as host, claiming the pressures of commuting to the show’s studios in Leeds as his reasons for leaving.
Now with Countdown facing both its current stars leaving, it leaves Channel 4 with its own conundrum on whether to pull the plug on the wordplay forever.
